It was a dark & snowy night, and I printed as fast as could.
300 belly bands and 600+ cards later, I looked up at the clock: 10:15! Not the latest I've been at the studio (by a long shot), but the ink had been on the press for six hours. And silver, being oil-based, loves to stick to rollers and not come off!
After a quick and thorough scrub, I peeked at the piles of prints.
May Day Studio is a bookbinding and letterpress printing studio in Montpelier, Vermont. I envision the day when all correspondence will be letterpressed, and all journals will be one-of-a-kind. May Day Studio’s letterpress visions are achieved with handset type, original papers from handcarved linoleum blocks, and a small army of antique printing presses. We like to think that it's the unique intersection of new and old, skill and craft that makes May Day Studio stand out in the crowd of cookie-cutter design.
